and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Regardless of what the song says, it is my belief that children make the world go
'round. Nothing can inspire one to a greater height than a happy smile from a little girl or feel a greater love than a young boy using you
for a jungle gym. There is no greater sound than that of a happy giggle from a small one.
Love
In the first few years of life there is one thing you can not give a child enough of, and that is Love. Love is
something very necessary for the proper developement of children.
Discipline
I beleive that when children start out you need to have very tight restrictions on their behavior. Now most
of you reading that I think you would say that I am a mean ogre, but speak from experience. At the time of this writing I have a nine year old son - who is
very much a 'Daddy's Boy' and I am very strict with him, but he knows that I love him dearly. When he was about four years old, he got out of hand, so
I sent one wack to hind-side. It wasn't very hard, really it was just an attention getter and a reality check. I let him know that his behavior was unacceptable. He
stormed off, within five minutes he was back sitting on my lap saying "I Love you Dad."
